Ha even Amazon wonders why I'm not making money

I just got an email form Amazon Associates program stating that even though I've been with them for a few weeks I have made a sale. I know it's the type of email they send everyone but it was funny seeing it. the email gave a few basic tips on how to earn money (things I already have down on other sites)

As I said before I was testing this program out when I was going through a down period with my adsense earnings. The funny thing is that adsense has been doing well recently and I get this email form Amazon.

Now it may seem that the fact that I haven't earned anything from Amazon is a sign that the program isn't that good, but that may not really be the a case. It took me time to earn anything with adsense and it maybe the same with amazon.

there are a number of factors with making money with these types of programs. one has to learn the right places to place the links on your site to make the most money. As well as having enough traffic.

I've only tested Amazon on a few sites. They get ok traffic but I may need to move the ad units around to get the best results.

Is it time to bank out...and join a Credit Union?

wither it's because you are feeling uneasy with the banks because of the government bailouts or because you have noticed that your bank has started charging a lot of fines recently. You may be wondering if there is a better place to put your money.

Now before you go old school and start stashing your cash in your mattress, there is a better place to bank your money and that would be in a credit union.

If your in the dark and wondering...what is a credit union? The answer is simple they are very similar to banks but with some key differences. They are owned by the members of the Credit Union. That's right if you join a credit union you become part owner of that union. Another differences is that credit unions are not-for-profit.

What those differences mean is that credit union are able to give there members higher returns and give out loans with lower interest rates. Also because they aren't trying to find ways to turn more profit credit unions tend to have less fees then banks.

and if you are worried about safety, the money put into credit unions are insured by the government by the federal agency, the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) which insures accounts at the same level as the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) does for banks. which is up to $250,000.

smart pricing and testing out amazon

Recently I notice a bit of a a drop in my earning form adsense. Oddly I'm getting more hits then ever.

I'm not sure if this is an effect of their new smart pricing or something else, but because of this I am not trying out different ad services to see how they are doing.

over the weekend I joined amazon's affiliate program and put some links on some of the sites I run.

To soon to say how well it's doing, but I do like some of the features with the program.

mainly that they have a few flash ad widgets, if you run a blog via blogger you can stick an ad in your post. non of the flash widgets are contextual but you can pick the products to sell. This can work better then hoping there is an advertiser in your ad network that well appear on your site that is actually dealing with what that post is talking about. Now you can find something relating to your topic and hopeful someone will buy.

welcome to my adventures of trying to make money on the net

Let me get out of the way. I am not one of those internet gurus telling you how to get rich.

Honestly I don't even make enough money yet to even be able to tell you how to get rich online. I have manage to get a check form adsense every 3 or 4 months.

What this blog is, is me writing about my journey to make money online. Hopefully you will read about me improving my results.

I'll write about my testing things out, what seems to be working what not.
